Summary Description
The Day Care Director is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the day care center. This includes ensuring the safety and well-being of children, implementing educational programs, managing staff, maintaining the facility, and adhering to all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for nurturing and educating young children.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management:
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive educational program that meets the developmental needs of children.
- Ensure programs are aligned with state and federal guidelines.
- Evaluate and enhance curriculum based on feedback and research.
Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise day care staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Child Safety and Well-Being:
- Ensure a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure child safety.
- Monitor and address any concerns related to child behavior and developement.
Facility Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the day care facility.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the day care center meets all licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Parent and Community Relations:
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and any concerns.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage the community and promote the day care center.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the day care center’s budget.
- Oversee billing, collections, and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities for funding and grants.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to child care.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Ability to pass a background check.

- Work hours may vary and may include some evenings and weekends.
